WhatsApp Order Button helps Shopify merchants add WhatsApp order buttons to their storefront.

Data We Collect

The app stores Shopify installation session data required to keep the app connected to a merchant's store. This may include the shop domain and access tokens provided by Shopify.

The app may store minimal storefront setup status, such as the shop domain, which WhatsApp button block loaded, whether a phone number is configured, the page URL where the block was seen, and the last seen time. This helps merchants confirm that the app is installed correctly.

The app may store aggregated WhatsApp button click counts by shop, date, block type, and last clicked page URL. The app does not store the customer's WhatsApp message content.

The app does not collect customer personal data, order data, payment data, shipping addresses, or customer WhatsApp messages.

App Settings

Merchants may enter configuration values such as a WhatsApp phone number, button label, button colors, position, and message template in the Shopify theme editor. These settings are stored by Shopify as part of the theme configuration.

How Data Is Used

Installation session data is used only to authenticate the app with Shopify and provide the app experience inside Shopify admin.

Third Parties

When a customer clicks a WhatsApp button, they are redirected to WhatsApp using a wa.me link. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and its own terms and privacy policy apply.

Data Retention

If a merchant uninstalls the app, installation data may be deleted or made inactive according to Shopify webhook events and normal operational requirements.
